Come From Away, the most heartwarming musical opened again at Östgötateatern

I think there is hardly anyone who has not seen the now classic film with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner from 1992 and been enchanted by the music and the impossible love between megastar Rachel Maron and bodyguard Frank Farmer.

Full of joy, energetic when Pippi returns to the stage in a magical combination of musical and circus keeping the core essence of Astrid Lindgrens character.

It was a beautiful summer day when Pippi at Circus finally opened at the Cirkus arena. The red carpet was full of swedish stars of course with Björn Ulvaeus who is the exectuive producer and witten the songtexts to the musical. He attended the show with his new partner Christina SAS. A 70-year old birthday party for Tomas Ledin, who also celebrates 50 years as an artist, is an appropriate celebration to mark the first big concert since Covid restrictions have been lifted. During his long life as an artist, he has toured with ABBA and recorded Never Again with Agneta Fältskog. In 2019, his songs were made into a musical movie with Malin Åkerman in the lead role as Isabella.

Boarders opened the 26th of February at Playhouse Teater in Stockholm.

At last we can relax and start enjoying life and performing arts again. The team behind this set has worked for 1.5 years to be able to invite the audience to the show's Nordic premiere.

Two women are washed ashore after a boat accident. Helen (Moa Åström) is euphoric about the fact that they have both survived, but Robyn (Tove Simonsen) is in shock and feels bad. Different emotions that they have to deal with and accept, the relationship that is turned inside out. Replicas that attract redemptive laughter. But where are they somewhere and how should they get out of there? Who is the mysterious woman who appears? But then all of a sudden Robyn experiences that she is at home in her kitchen, imagination or parallel universe? She suffers from a strong feeling of loss and sadness, why? Gradually, the play changes shape and becomes more touching and striking when you realize that it is not about surviving a boat accident but to survive and move on when the one you love has died in an accident that you yourself have been in. The feelings of guilt, loss and grief mixes and becomes incredibly strong and intense.
