The Festival of Arts proudly presents its latest exhibition at foaSOUTH, Ephemeral Monuments: A Stillman Sawyer Retrospective. This captivating showcase delves into the intricate relationship between Sawyer, a longtime Festival of Arts exhibitor, and his distinctive black and white photography, nature, and the passage of time. With a keen photographer’s eye, Sawyer adeptly captures two types of natural monuments: those immortalizing fleeting, ephemeral moments and others documenting the endurance of gradually formed landscapes. Exploring his photographs across diverse biomes, from the serene deserts to the rhythmic seas and the majestic mountain peaks, "Ephemeral Monuments" invites contemplation on the majesty of nature, prompting viewers to enter the same contemplative state as Sawyer patiently waits for the perfect moment. The exhibit, hosted at foaSOUTH within Active Culture at 1006 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, is free to the public and open daily from 9am to 8pm through March 31, 2024.
Festival of Arts is at 1006 S Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651, Laguna Beach, CA.
