What stopped you a 14-year period of creativity? How to mirror a more than 40 pieces of comprehensive work in one evening? What shows you when the last curtain falls?
Kevin O'Day and Dominique Dumais have opted for a farewell, which reflects their work in Mannheim multifaceted and focuses on the divergence: an act of Dominique Dumais' Tracing Isadora (2014), Kevin O'Day We will ... (2008), excerpts from Dominique Dumais' Chansons (2008) and the second act of Kevin O'Day's I'm with the Band (2011).
Dominique Dumais says goodbye with the words, Leonard Cohen's "Dance Me To The End of Love". It shows the ensemble in the third act of tracing Isadora and excerpts from songs oscillating between homogeneous unit and individual explorations. The pieces are examples of two issues with which the choreographer has employed repeatedly in recent years: The love of life that is more valuable and more beautiful by its volatility, and love to dance, the artists and audience together welded.
Kevin O'Day has chosen two very contrasting pieces for this evening. To encounters and alienations it goes into the soulful pas de deux We will .... His anniversary piece I'm with the band, however celebrates loud and energetic solidarity with the theater and the city squares. With ten musicians on stage at the same time it represents the artistic approach of the ballet director with the vibrant music scene of the UNESCO City of Music together and show dance and music as equal Arts.
