FOOSA Festival/Fresno Summer Academy Philharmonic Presents:
Poetic Dissonance
Friday June 26, 2015 8:00pm
The youthful orchestra, with internationally acclaimed faculty in key positions, brings another blast of novel sound from California’s Central Valley. Ben Boone’s Music for a Dying Planet, featuring the poetry of Philip Levine, highlights the plight of farmers in this drought. Added to the drama are the FOOSA Concerto Competition winner, Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis and the majestic Shostakovich Symphony No. 12.
