Once dubbed “the Jay-Z of the South” by Pharrell Williams, *T.I.* gradually came into his own and established himself as one of rap’s most successful MCs during the early 2000s.
*T.I.* was raping by age eight and signed on with Arista Records sublabel LaFace in 1999. His debut album was not successful and he was subsequently dropped, but he never stopped hustling. *T.I.* pushed forward promoting independent mix tapes until he was signed by Atlantic Records. Throughout the early years, *T.I.* maintained a consistent presence on urban radio, and that has continued through to the present day.
*T.I.* Has also enjoyed career as a n actor. He has appeared in in the films American Gangster, Taker, Get Hard, the Entourage movie, Ant-Man, and more. His television career includes the creation of the reality show *T.I.*’s Road To Redemption and T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. He was also featured on the BET show The Grand Hustle and on the Netflix show Rhythm + Flo.
When he’s not busy rapping, producing or acting, *T.I.* stays busy as both a businessman and
philanthropist.
