ROLES AVAILABLE:
HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES – 2 women-aged 40-60, 2 women aged 25-35, 2 men aged 25-35 and 2 men aged 35-50 (8 roles total).
CHRISTMAS BELLES – 1 woman aged 40-50. All other roles are cast.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES
Lady Jane Mortimer, 40-60. A strong, matronly friend of the Baskerville family.
Watson, 35-50, confidante of Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes, 35-50, the great detective.
Sir Henry Baskerville, 25-35, the young heir to the Baskerville estate.
Barrymore, 40-60, the female housekeeper of Baskerville Hall.
Beryl Stapleton, 25-35, a lovely neighbor to the Baskervilles.
Jack Stapleton, 25-35, her strange brother.
Laura Lyons, 25-35, a mysterious lady with a secret.
CHRISTMAS BELLES
Patsy Price, 40-50. The richest woman in town and not afraid to remind everyone of it, matronly and condescending. All other roles are cast.
AUDITION PREPARATION: Auditionees are asked to bring a prepared monologue no longer than 2 minutes in length. The monologue need not be memorized. Cold readings will also be held from the various scripts.
CONTRACT: Broadway Onstage is a non-Equity theatre. There is no contract.
SALARY/PAY RATE:
Payment is $30 per performance. There is no payment for the rehearsal period. There are generally 10 performances of each production. Actors are asked to fill out a W-4 form and are considered part-time employees.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATES:
HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, Generally Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Monday, September 16 with Tech Week, Mondaythrough Wednesday, October 21 through 23. Performances on Friday and Saturday evenings, October 25 through November 23. An occasional Sunday Matinee is performed if a group of 30 or more is scheduled to attend. There are no Sunday Matinees currently scheduled.
CHRISTMAS BELLES, Generally Mondays and Wednesday evenings beginning October 28 with Tech Week Monday through Wednesday, December 2-5. CHRISTMAS BELLES runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm from Friday December, 6 through Saturday December 21 with two Special 2pm Sunday Matinees on Sunday, December 8 and Sunday, December 15 for a total of 8 performances.
