WHAT IS Into The Woods?
Into The Woods is a magical musical written by Stephen Sondheim. It mixes up classic fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and The Beanstalk- all with fun and sometimes unsettling twists. There are many featured roles, as well as smaller but still extremely memorable characters.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to audition, all students must bring the following items:
1. Signed contract
2. $50 nonrefundable deposit (which will be applied to the tuition fee of $200)
3. Song tracks on cd or ipod/iphone
4. Ages 7-22

Choose one session:
1. Saturday, June 7th 10am-1pm
2. Saturday, June 7th 1-4pm
3. Saturday, June 7th 4-7pm
4. Sunday, June 8th 6:30-9pm
5. Saturday, June 14th 12-2pm

AUDITION MATERIAL
Please prepare 2 contrasting musical theatre or classical songs that show off vocal range and ability. Each student MUST bring tracks for these songs, either on cd or an iPod/iPhone. Scenes will be provided.
PARENT PRODUCTION MEETING
1. Saturday, June 7th 9-10am
2. Saturday, June 14th 1-2pm
3. Sunday, June 15th 6:30-7:30pm
**All cast members, as well as at least one parent or guardian (for students under 18), MUST attend one session. Also, parents will need to sign up for and complete mandatory volunteer hours by the end of the production’s run.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-Please check the rehearsal schedule and contract for conflicts, as this will affect casting.
-ALL roles are open. Nothing is pre-cast. Auditions are open to ages 7-22.
-Rehearsal times will average: 1.5-3 hrs/week (ensemble) and 4-8 hrs/week (leads). Rehearsals are primarily on Saturdays and Mondays, and Thursdays. In August, rehearsal times will increase.
-Performances are August 15th, 16th and 17th at the gorgeous Warner Grand Theatre! FULL ORCHESTRA!
The cast will be announced on the evening of Sunday, June 15th.
