Auditions for the Wetumpka Depot Players upcoming production, Southern Fried Funeral will be May 14 and 15 at 7pm at the Depot Theatre, 300 S Main Street. Written by Osborne and Eppier the comedy will be directed by Depot veteran, Kim Turner Lynch Mason?
” Our audiences asked for a southern comedy and we listened, “ said director Kim Mason. “The characters in Southern Fried Funeral are the kind of folks we know around here. We welcome adults with all types of backgrounds to audition. On our stage at any given time, you will find actors making their stage debut along side actors who have an extensive background in theatre. It’s what makes community theatre so special and fun!”
“The premise of the play is hilarious,” said Depot executive director, Kristy Meanor. “ The family patriarch of a southern family has passed away and his wife is left to carry on and hold her family together. What takes place around the funeral activities are some hilarious situations that will leave our audiences laughing at the situations and possibly themselves. Local actors will have a blast auditioning for this show. We are always looking for new talent so we are excited to see new faces at auditions!”
