Audition Details:
Auditions are for Female Dancers (or actresses with movement training) who are comfortable dancing in front of audiences and
developing burlesque solo dances that will strip down to pasties and g-strings. (If you are not willing to do burlesque dances,
please do not audition.) We prefer dancers with previous dance/ burlesque experience.
Auditions will be Sunday, May 20th (12 – 5pm) at the Greenhouse Theater Center. You will be given a 10 minute audition slot
to perform a single dance solo piece to a 3 – 4 minute song of your choice. (Note: Bring music in CD or flash drive. Also bring a
backup on your ipod or digital music device.) If you do not have a choreographed piece, you may improvise dance to the music
piece of your choice. Please arrive 30 minutes early for your slot with any applicable costume pieces for your number. If you do
not have a burlesque number, please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
Auditionees will be notified that evening if you are called back. Callbacks will be held at the Greenhouse on Tuesday, May
22nd from 7 – 9pm. At callbacks, you will perform your solo piece and learn a short, simple choreographed dance routine to
perform for the auditors. Cast members will be selected from that final group and notified that night. (All auditionees will
receive a final confirmation after their audition.)
Commitment:
Dance rehearsals are Mondays from 7 – 9pm. Attendance is mandatory. Additionally, you would be asked to perform two
shows a month, scheduled around your calendar. Call time is 10pm on Fridays. Show is at 11pm. Curtain is usually 12:30am.
