TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2017/2018 season with the regional premiere of "Our Great Tchaikovsky," written and performed by Hershey Felder. Through the hands and insight of piano virtuoso Felder, composer Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky springs to life in this time bending tale which explores both current Russian politics and historical context. From the unforgettable ballets, "Swan Lake," "Sleeping Beauty," and "The Nutcracker," to the outrageous "1812 Overture" and his brilliant symphonic works, this powerful music journey travels from Czarist times to today, bringing vivid life to a haunted genius. Felder has become an enormous Bay Area favorite; audiences packed the regional premiere of "Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin" and his premiere of his reworking of "Hershey Felder, Beethoven," continuing to set all-time box office records for TheatreWorks.
