The Broadway community mourns the loss of acclaimed director and performer Gene Saks, who passed away on Saturday at age 93. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory on Wednesday, April 1st, at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

In today's People.com, Tony-winning actress Angela Lansbury, who starred in the original TV series, revealed that though she is a fan of Spencer, she believes a reboot of the popular CBS series is a mistake.

On Monday, May 2, 2011 The New York Pops' marks its 28th birthday with Celebrate Hope, a grand gala evening celebrating the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honoring decades of support by Interpublic Group. Jim Hill Media reveals today that the Living Character Initiative version of WALL-E will be taking part in the Tony Award telecast tribute to composer Jerry Herman at Sunday's awards.

Legendary musical director Don Pippin, one of the leading conductors in the United States, has taken up the baton to lead the National Symphony Orchestra this week as Kennedy Center honors the accomplishments of Jerry Herman in JERRY HERMAN'S BROADWAY. The gifted Pippin has had a long and rich creative history with Herman as he has collaborated on the composers many works including such musicals as 'Ben Franklin in Paris', 'Mack and Mabel', 'Mame' and 'La Cage Aux Follies'.

Stage and screen actress Sandy Duncan will 'coax the blues right out of the horn,' as she makes her Barrington Stage debut as the glamorous Mame Dennis in a semi-staged concert version of Jerry Herman's legendary musical 'Mame,' directed by Julianne Boyd.
