"Beyond the Fringe", a British Comedy Stage Review by Alan Bennett, Peter Cook, Jonathan Miller and Dudley Moore, debuted at the 1960 Edinburgh (Fringe) Festival and went on to play in Londons West End and then in America, both on tour and on New Yorks Broadway in the early 1960s. Hugely successful, the revue was widely considered to be ahead of its time, both in its unapologetic willingness to debunk figures of authority, and by virtue of its inherently surrealistic comedic vein.It has subsequently been referred to as the show that reinvented comedy. Directed by Geoff Trowbridge and assisted by Angie Berkshire, this revue of skits and music is expertly performed by Emily Clarkson, Michael Clarkson, Cecil Eastman and Russell Pluta.
