The Fields of Ambrosia features industry readings in New York City on October 17 and 18, led by Mike McGowan as Jonas Candide and Sierra Boggess as Gretchen Herzallerliebst. This Southern Gothic musical, based on the film The Traveling Executioner, tells the story of an ex-con man turned traveling executioner and a beautiful Austrian immigrant prisoner. The production, directed by Gabriel Barre with choreography by Matthew Johnson Harris, aims to showcase a revised version of the show that initially premiered in 1993, incorporating new material and highlighting its unique folk, rock, and blues score.
