PlayhouseSquare's annual Tinsel Town Holiday Celebration for Families is scheduled for Saturday, December 12 from 3 - 5 p.m. in the Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare (1375 Euclid Ave.), immediately following the 1 p.m. performance of The Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Nutcracker, presented by PNC.

Brighton Beach Memoirs is being pulled from the Vagabond Players current season. Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet, directed by Steve Goldklang will be its replacement. Performances will run from April 16, 2010 until May 16, 2010.

Comedy Works South will presents NO JOKE GOSPEL BRUNCH on November 15 at 11AM. This event will feature a performance by Hearts of Worship.

National Opera Week takes place November 13-22, 2009 and celebrates the vitality of opera in America as a contemporary cultural expression. The Stradivari Quartet will play Tiedtke Concert Hall at Rollins College as part of the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. The Visiting Artists Series performance will be on on Friday November 6th at 8PM. The quartet will also perform on Saturday, November 7 at 11AM as a part of the Fred Rogers Family Series.

Running Rabbit Family Theatre (RRFT), a leading theatre company for family audiences presents 'mr. RAY in CONCERT.' The performance is a rock concert geared for 2 to 8 year-olds and their families on Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 pm at the beautiful newly constructed Montclair Citadel of the Salvation Army, 13 Trinity Place, Montclair.

The KD Actors Conservatory will present BYE BYE BIRDIE at the KD Studio Theatre. The production runs from November 12th through the 15th.

Taproot Theatre's annual holiday production will go on despite the October 23 fire. Taproot Theatre brings the hit play It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play back to the stage as it holds its holiday production at the Stage One Theatre at North Seattle Community College. Unable to find a venue that could accommodate the world premiere of John Longenbaugh's Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol, Taproot Theatre brings back one of the most popular Christmas plays in its history. Adapted for the stage by Joe Landry and directed by Karen Lund, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play runs November 27 through December 30, with a pay-what-you-can performance on November 25. There are no preview performances.

The Pennington Players will usher in the holiday season with the slightly-twisted, but totally lovable classic, 'A Christmas Story,' at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre Fridays, Nov. 27 and Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Nov. 28 and Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sundays, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. An opening night reception with the cast and crew follows the Nov. 27 performance. Patrons may drop off donations for the 'Toys for Tots' holiday gift drive in the theatre lobby through Dec. 21.

Calibre Productions presents a stage adaptation of the BBC hit comedy Porridge, penned by the original writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, at the New Theatre from November 3rd to November 7th. The production stars Shaun Williamson of television's EastEnders.

On Friday, November 13th, Equinox Theatre will hold a wine tasting fundraising event at Emerson Ballroom from 7pm to 11pm.

The Adaskin String Trio, along with Hartt faculty and students, perform music of Professor Stephen Michael Gryc on Sunday, November 1, at 3:00 PM in Berkman Recital Hall. In celebration of Gryc's sixtieth birthday and 30th year of teaching at The Hartt School, the concert will include works composed during each of the past four decades, from the Five Preludes for Flute Alone of 1979 to the String Quartet of 2005. Admission is free.

The Hartt School celebrates the retirement of long-time trumpet professor Roger Murtha with a celebration concert featuring the American Brass Quintet. This celebration of Murtha's 45 year tenure at the University of Hartford will take place on Friday, October 30, at 7:30 PM, in Millard Auditorium on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus.

Regis Philbin, Richard Belzer and Len Cariou have been added to the roster of celebrities who will celebrate the posthumous release of Remember How I Love You: Love Letters from an Extraordinary Marriage, Jerry and Elaine Orbach's autobiographical memoir recounting their thirty year marriage, at a once-in-a-lifetime reunion of the couple's colleagues and friends at The Snapple Theater Center on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 5:30 PM.

Tickets to WICKED, 'Broadway's biggest blockbuster' (The New York Times), go on sale at 8 AM Friday, October 30, 2009 for a limited three week run, February 17- March 7, 2010, at the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be available for sale to the general public WALK-UP only at 8 AM, October 30. Phone and online sales begin later the same morning at 10 AM.

The Cherry Lane Theatre has announced the roster of award-winning playwrights, director Hal Prince and renowned actress Tyne Daly to be featured in the theatre's annual, eagerly-anticipated MASTER CLASS - a series of 15 programs that offers theatergoers an inside view of theater from master of the craft in an intimate setting, starting Monday, November 2 at 7 p.m. at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Manhattan. The format allows audiences to hear these masters speak about their art, and have the opportunity to ask questions of the artists.

A BOY AND HIS SOUL - Colman Domingo's acclaimed play about his life growing up in Philadelphia in the 70's and 80's amid the cool, smooth sounds of soul, R&B and disco - is anticipated to return to an Off-Broadway stage in New York this season following its run at The Vineyard, it has been announced by The Vineyard Theatre and producer Elizabeth Ireland McCann.
