Blair Ingenthron

Blair is the Weekend News Desk Editor / Special Projects Coordinator at BroadwayWorld. She has worked in various capacities in the theatre industry, with companies such as Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, SpotCo, and 54 Below. 

She is also a playwright. Her plays include Cosplay (Brick Theater), The Gatekeeper, and Dead Children’s Playground. Blair holds a B.A. with Honors in English Language and Literature (Writing Concentration) from Pace University and has studied at the Einhorn School of Performing Arts at Primary Stages and The New Group with playwrights Melissa Ross, Leah Nanako Winkler, Julian Sheppard, Rogelio Martinez, and Marsha Norman, among others. She is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Blair currently resides in Upper Manhattan.

Czech-American Marionette Theatre Presents REVOLUTION! at Theatre for the New City, 3/4-21

Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre will dissect revolution with stilts and strings in 'REVOLUTION!,' a theatre spectacle that examines revolutions throughout the history of mankind as a backdrop for the extraordinary peaceful 1989 Velvet Revolution in former Czechoslovakia. Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue will present the work March 4 to 21, 2010. It will feature regulars of Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre and guest artists.

Thunderbird American Indian Dancers Present Dance Concert and Pow Wow at Theater for the New City, 1/29 thru 2/7

Thunderbird American Indian Dancers will hold their 35th annual Dance Concert and Pow Wow at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, from January 29 to February 7, 2010. The troupe's appearances benefit college funds for needy Native American students. The company's Pow-Wows have been presented annually as a two-week event by TNC since 1976, with the box office donated to these funds. There will be dances, stories and traditional music from the Iroquois and Native Peoples of the Northwest Coast, the Southwest, the Plains, and the Arctic regions. Between 25 and 30 dancers will assemble for the event.

Falcon Theatre to Hold Auditions for WONDERFUL LIFE, 11/2

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Drama, will return this holiday season to the Falcon Theatre. Falcon will be holding auditions on Monday, November 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Monmouth Theatre for several open roles. Available roles are for both men and women with flexible age requirements. Most actors in this show will play multiple voice roles. There are also 2 roles open for female singers who are integral to the show. Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script. No appointment is necessary.

MTV's Sway to Emcee COMMUNITY OF UNITY Fundraiser for Youth Program, 10/29

Since Community of Unity (CofU) was founded in 2001 by youth development specialist Eric Komoroff, over 30,000 youth from around the world have been touched by their programs. This year's annual benefit, which will take place on Thursday, October 29 at 7p at the Winston Wachter Gallery in Chelsea (530 West 25th Street), will raise funds for groundbreaking programs that are responsible for the 90% college attendance rate of graduates from their after-school program participants. MTV news correspondent Sway Calloway will be the emcee for the evening.

Two Chicago Dramatists Playwrights Nominated for 2008/2009 LA Ovation Awards

Chicago Dramatists announced today that Resident Playwright Lydia Diamond's play Stick Fly was nominated for 5 LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards (including Best Production, Director, Ensemble, Lighting and Scenic) and Resident Playwright Keith Huff's play The Bird and Mr. Banks was also nominated for Ovation Awards for Best Actor for Sam Anderson (Bernard on 'Lost') and Best Sound Design.

Opera House Players' THE FULL MONTY Runs 11/13 thru 11/29

The Opera House Players production of THE FULL MONTY, directed by Philip D. Vetro, will play the Broad Brook Opera House from November 13th to November 29th. After being honored with five Ovation Award nominations last week - including Best Musical for the second year in a row, Louis & Keely: Live at the Sahara is closing out its run on Sunday, November 8. The production has been playing in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse since March. While these final weeks mark Angeleno's final chance to see th production, the team behind the musical is in the process of planning the show's future.

Texas Performing Arts' flagship venue Bass Concert Hall has moved from number 13 (mid-year ranking) to 7 on the top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venues with 215,237 tickets sold for events between January 1 and September 30, 2009, according to Pollstar, the trade journal for touring artists, booking agents and performance venues.
