Cabaret veteran Rian Keating will return to Don’t Tell Mama this fall with an encore presentation of his show, Songs From My Trunk. Long acclaimed for his interweaving of personal stories with songs, Keating’s latest show has been nearly forty years in the making. Keating’s personal anecdotes about his hometown librarian, coming of age and early New York City adventures will help illuminate songs by Harold Arlen, Michele Brourman & Karen Gottleib, Jerry Herman, Rodgers & Hart, Ned Rorem and Kurt Weill, among others. Darryl Curry is the musical direction; Tanya Moberly directs. Keating was the recipient of the 2023 MAC Award for Male Vocalist and the 2022 MAC Award for Special Production for Time Stamps: Life Fragments in Story and Song. He holds nominations for his shows In This Traveling Heart and Womansongs. All proceeds will benefit the Golden Door Scholarship Fund, which will help a undocumented immigrant pursue the dream of an American College education. Songs From My Trunk will be performed at Don’t Tell Mama on Thursday, October 10th at 7 pm and Sunday, October 20th at 3:30. For reservations contact Don’t Tell Mama.
Don't Tell Mama is at 343 West 46th Street, New York, NY, New York City, NY.
