Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

Circle Theatre Presents ESCANABA IN DA MOONLIGHT, 2/19-3/13

The Circle Theatre will be starting the New Year with the regional premier of the comedy Escanaba In Da Moonlight. Directed by Kevin Ehrhart, Escanaba will be staged in the lower level of Central Presbyterian Church, running now through Saturday, March 13th. Doors open at 6:30PM with dinner served at 7:00pm and performances starting at 8:00PM. The show runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Department of Theatre presents Moisés Kaufman's Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, directed by Dr. Amy Lane. The event was moderated by Howard Sherman, about the American Theatre Wing's new book, The Play That Changed My Life: America's Foremost Playwrights on the Plays that Influenced Them.

This Saint Patrick's Day, prepare to dance a jig in the aisles after hearing the side-splitting stories from the funniest Irish comedians on 'Irish Eyes Are Laughing'. On this particular evening of Irish debauchery, Andrew Maxwell and honorary Irishman Patrice Oneal will share their not-so-lucky stories. Currently preparing for his extensive tour of the UK, Maxwell is frequently featured on the BBC and recently won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show. Oneal is the star of his own HBO Special and was a frequent guest on Comedy Central's 'Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn' and NBC's 'The Office.'

Spirit of Bach Festival Announces Photography Award Winners

On Thursday, February 11, 2010, the Bach Festival Society, in partnership with the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens and Crealdé School of Art, announced the winners of the Spirit of Bach Festival Photography Exhibit. Spirit of Bach Festival Photography exhibit features the photos of eight local photographers who were given access to photograph the choir and orchestra during the Spring of 2009. The exhibit, including the winning photos, will be on display at the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens through April 25, 2010. Standard Museum admission fees apply.

Cortland Rep Featured in Southern Theatre Magazine

A photo from Cortland Repertory Theatre's 2009 summer production of 'I Hate Hamlet' is now appearing on the cover of the spring edition of Southern Theatre Magazine. The photo, taken by Cortland photographer and CRT Board Member David Blatchley, was the winner of the magazine's annual Cover Photo Contest. It features actor Robert Boardman as John Barrymore and CRT regular Dustin Charles as Andrew Rally in a scene from the Paul Rudnick comedy. The contest was open to members of the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC), which is the largest regional theatre organization in the country. Now in its 61st year, the SETC holds regional auditions for actors twice a year in various cities in the south eastern United States. CRT attends the spring auditions, which will be held this year in Lexington, Kentucky on March 4 - 6.

Movie Musical Star Kathryn Grayson Dies at 88

According to published reports, Kathryn Grayson, star of classic MGM movie musicals as Show Boat and Kiss Me Kate, has died at the age of 88. Grayson died 'of natural causes at her Los Angeles home,' according to her friend and secretary, Sally Sherman.

Allison Janney Guest Stars on USA's 'In Plain Sight' with Moreno & Weber

Broadway veteran and 'West Wing' alumna, Allison Janney is set to guest star on USA Network's drama series 'In Plain Sight' alongside Rita Moreno and Steven Weber. Janney will play a newly-appointed US Marshal for the district who butts heads with Mary (Mary McCormack) in the two episode stint.
